The Best Way To Stop Stressing

October 3rd, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

If you are constantly stressed, depressed or anxious then the following article may well be of benefit. I believe that I am one of the biggest stress-heads in the country but have recently, with the help and advice of a friend, managed to lower and deal with most of my anxieties.

During a recent evening out, he (Ian) suggested that there was possibly not enough fun in my life and that a weekend break could be exactly what I needed. Spending some time by the sea and having a few nights out on the town could be just what the doctor ordered he continued. It could be a way of taking my mind off my work SEO powersuite reviews company and help me to relax.

After having a little think I decided that Ian’s idea was a good one. It was certainly worth a go in any case. I asked Ian if he would like to join me on this break, to which he agreed. A sucker for punishment or what! Ian was a very positive person despite having a stuttering problem; he was also some what of a businessman and made a good living out of offering people one-way links.

We decided to go to Devon which is situated on the South-West coast of England. This is an area that I love as it is such a relaxed place to be, especially compared to the busy city where I live.

We had probably more alcohol than what many people would recommend and ate some great food. The weather was superb which helped in the recovery from the previous nights abuses. I even thought about possibly moving to Devon in the future as this could help me to become more relaxed. This for various reasons is something that is out of the question at the current time.

If you feel that you are similar to the way in which I used to be i.e a bit of a stress head then I would advise you to do something similar to the above. Give yourself a break to have some fun and to give your body a chance to de-stress.

Why Does Tiger Woods Wear Red And Black Clothes?

March 18th, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

I have recently read a about the golf player Tiger Woods. He is a very interesting character and a very good and successful golf player. It explained how he always wears red and black colours for his clothes, on the last day of each tournament. He chooses the colours of red and black as these colours represent a courageous attitude; he is saying to the rest of the players; I am going for it today – no messing about – it seems to work. He is basically saying to all of the players that he is going to just go for it, no fear, no worries, he is just going to attack. In his opinion, if he has this attitude and plays well, he will have every chance of winning the tournament. Now he obviously can not win every tournament, but he does seem to win his fair share.

Do not get me wrong I do not work within this area; I am personally involved with DVD duplication and I also sell cheap holidays as well as working with a stuttering specialist.

I remember feeling very nervous about attending an interview. This was exactly the type of situation which I would worry and get stressed out about~I have never been very good in these types of situation and would have become very anxious about it in the past}. I would question why I was even attending the interview as I was bound to fail. This is of course an example of my negative attitude.

From reading all of these books, I decided that worrying was certainly not going to help me and that I needed to think positive. After looking through my wardrobe I realised that I could really do with some new clothes as the one’s that I had were a little worse for wear. I went to the shops to buy some quality shirts, a couple of ties, some new shoes and a brand new suit. I will never forget seeing myself in the mirror with this new suit on, I looked extremely smart and I felt very proud of myself. Just wearing this new suit gave me a huge boost of confidence. I went to the interview feeling more positive than ever and pretended I was Tiger, I was just going to go for it and see what happens.

I was quite amazed to find that my brain seemed to be in tip top form during the interview. It managed to think of high quality answers despite the obvious high pressured situation – overall the interview went very well. I actually quite enjoyed the meeting and am happy to let you know that I was offered the position two weeks later.

Why Do I Stress So Much?

February 21st, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

This article looks into the causes of stress and gives free tips to help you control and reduce your worries. I have, as I am sure many people do, stressed for most of my life for many different reasons. Even though I still worry about many things, I have now learned how to handle many of these situations and will write about how I go about doing this, in this article.

I do not work within the stress management industry and am in fact a personal injury claims expert from the UK. I also work on other projects to do with selling external doors and working with a business cost reduction specialist who offers amongst other things Vodafone Voucher Codes.

I am the kind of person who likes to have a simple and settled life. I would normally start to become a bit stressed when something big is about to happen such as a wedding. I am also somebody that is rather adverse to change; I like the way things are currently so why do we need to change them? This might seem a little crazy to you but I am just trying to tell you the way it is. I am not the kind of person who likes change, therefore things like moving house is something which will cause me a lot of stress. I have actually moved house four times in the last six years, not very clever for someone like me. I am now happy where I live and plan to stay at this abode for a long time.

I am also self-employed. There are many things I love about being self-employed, the fact that I am my own boss, I can choose my own hours, I have no-one to answer or to report to and the all round freedom it gives me. I often stress however that business will go through a bad period and that I do not have the security of a regular income. How will I pay the mortgage? How will I pay my car loan? How will I feed and clothe my children? These are all the things that at times can keep me awake at night.

I now have started to build up a back-up fund in a bank account. At the times when business is booming I am very disciplined at saving a fairly large perentage of the profits. These profits can then be used to help during the not so prosperous periods. This gives me a peace of mind and therefore I do not have to worry so much. Business will go through good and bad periods and this way I can easily cope when it does go slow.

I used to also worry about how I would pay my tax bill at the end of the year, however I have also started to put money away each month similar to the above example, to pay for it.

I now try and think about all of my worries in a logical manner and instead of losing sleep over them I try to find solutions.

I also feel stressed and I am not sure why it is, the day after I have a night out drinking alcohol. In the morning and nowadays since I am getting older, throughout the day, I often feel lethargic and my mind starts to play tricks on me. This makes me wary of what the future might hold and this in turn makes me start to think in a negative manner. I then start to stress about a range of issues. It now takes me around forty-eight hours to recover from a boozy night out and affects my family and work life. I have now decided that I will go out far less and that when I do, I will limit the amount I drink.

These are other things that can cause me to stress:

When I have basically been working too hard!

When I have had a lack of sleep

During and after an illness

After an argument with my girlfriend

When I am invited to a social occasion which I do not want to go to, such as a wedding

A visit from my girlfriends family for say a weekend

Going on holiday

Some of the above may seem a bit bizarre to some people who read this article, however I am trying to be truthful. Yes going on holiday does cause me to worry. I have to say that I am a terrible flyer. I am not ready to die and certainly do not want to be invloved in any kind of disaster. Then there is the hotel; what if it is manky? What if it is not clean? I also worry that somebody in my family may become ill during the holiday. What would I do if this happened? In reality I am sure that I would cope but it is just going into the unknown that scares me.

One thing which I am now careful to ensure of, is that I get enough sleep. I have to admit something here; I adore going to bed and I love going to sleep. I am fairly confident that I could sleep for a whole day if needed! OK maybe this is going slightly overboard but I am sure you know what I mean. My bed is where I feel safe and comfortable. I used to fall into a trap of working too hard and would then stay up late, possibly watching the television. I would set my alarm to wake me up early and I would then start the whole process over again.

From reading a book about stress management, I discovered that sleep was one of the best forms of stress-relief. I decided to give it a go and I must say it works. I now stay in bed an hour later in the mornings and where possible, I am in bed by 10pm at night.

I am also now attempting to take life in my stride. What happens will happen and I will deal with each challenge on its own merit. I try to deal with potential problems in a positive way and realise that if life was very smooth and easy, that it would probably be quite boring.

I now appreciate what I have in life and instead of looking at the future full of dread, I look forward to what life will bring. I am fully aware of the fact that there will be some tough periods in my life; I am ready for these and am confident that I will be able to cope with them.

Nowadays when I do feel down and miserable, I tend to spend as much time as possible with my children, as they make me happy and can soon put a smile back onto my face.

Stress Management Techniques

December 26th, 2009 Neil Warner No comments

Now I am sure that we would all admit to becoming a little stressed from time to time. It is knowing what to do about it which is the problem for most of us. I am the type of person who used to stress about the smallest of things, this stress affected my sleep, my skin and my work life. I now, after studying the subject of stress for the past two years, have come up with ways to help me to cope with and to reduce the amount that I stress. I am going to write about these ways in this article.

I have had to admit a number of things to myself over the last couple of years, for example one of my weaknesses from the past has been my attitude to life. I basically used to think in a very negative way, I did not seem to really enjoy life and I also felt that I was rather an unlucky person. In reality I was actually fine but as you may be able to tell I would feel sorry for myself.

I am now able to think in a far more positive light and this has helped me no end.

Meditation has also helped me to think in a more upbeat manner. The main area where I find meditation helps is to enable my mind to think in a much clearer manner.

Exercise is my next tip to help other people to reduce the amount in which they worry or stress. I have a pet dog now and taking it for around six walks a day helps to to keep fit and to also get out of the house when things start to get a bit stressed.

All of these things have helped me in many ways including to overcome stammering; this was a problem that I had to endure for eighteen years of my life. At the time, before the internet was born, it was quite difficult to receive credible stammering advice, which just added to the overall frustration.

I am now able to live a happy, confident, fluent life and am working as an composite doors salesman as well as being able to offer people cheaper telephone calls.

If you really want something in life then you need to work hard and have the determination to get it.
