March 14th, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

For people who are interested in astral projection, you will find that there are a number of different astral projection techniques that you can try. While keeping in mind that we are all different and that while one technique that is pure gold for one person doesn’t work for another at all, you will find that there are techniques out there that can work for you. Most people try a few different techniques, but first of all, remember to relax!

100 percent relaxation is crucial to attaining success with any astral projection techniques. The person being unable to relax is often the result of fear. This is not uncommon with anyone who is just going through learning the art of astral projection. The fear is usually based on untrue facts that someone will be injured in someway by doing astral projection. The Canterbury Institute, famous for studying the occult, did a study that disproved these fears.

The Canterbury study had 2000 individuals, who were participants in astral projection. This study proved the not one person was found to be negatively affected in anyway from doing astral projection techniques. More importantly though is that there was a follow up down for 3 more years. No participant has had any problems that they have complained about.

Once you have managed to quiet your fears that this practice could do you harm, it is important for you to start by taking a look at some of the more basic astral projection techniques that people have been using. The first is known as the Monroe Technique, and consists of seven main steps.

* The first step is getting your body and mind to be 100 percent relaxed. Many relaxation techniques can be utilized to reach this stage successfully. Using the deep breathing method is so simple just inhale deeply and exhale deeply. Another one is to relax every muscle in your body by first tensing them up then secondly release them, begin with the toes on your feet and work toward the head.

* Next go into what is called the hynagogic state. When the body and mine are just on the edge of falling into sleep. Don’t go to sleep though! This is where you can utilize the gazing method. Start by focusing on particular item while laying on the bed, and keep looking at this item long enough that when you close your eyes that you can still visualize the item.

* Then once you are able to accomplish seeing the item with your eyes shut you have to go deeper into the state you are in. To accomplish this stage just close your eyes and start looking around to view what you can visualize. There is a possibility of you seeing a variety of light patterns, you could by chance notice a purple light cloaking the room. Do not spend too much attention to this, when you quit viewing this light you will have found that you have entered a state that is deeper. At this point you are so thoroughly relaxed that you have become unaware of your body physically. This part of the process is very crucial in the astral projection Monroe technique.

* This next step which revolves around a state of vibration is extremely important according to Monroe. Also, most people who are involved with the actual projection to indicate that these vibrations become noticeable in the early stages of projection. In fact, it is said that these vibrations signal the time when your astral body begins to separate from your physical body. This is a perfectly normal phenomenon and as such, there is no reason for concern.

* Controlling your state of vibration. You can control the vibrations in such a way that they move through your body. By using your mind you can direct these vibrations so that you can feel them all over as if there were waves washing over you. However, it will require a certain amount of practice before you are able to bring on these waves at will. Once you can create these ways at will, you’re ready to leave your body.

* The secret to astral travel and projection is for you to be in control with your mind. Monroe suggest that to strengthen this practice at this point a partial separation. Remaining focused mentally on the thought of exiting the physical body, 1st have a foot or maybe a hand go as fast as the astral body. Stretch either to an item that is close to you, as in maybe the floor, a wall, or any other item that is familiar, now place you foot or hand completely through this item. Now you need to bring the hand or foot back again to the physical body, calm down and stop the vibrations and bring session to a close. Keep laying on the bed until you have become to an awakened state completely.

* This last step is where you actually get to leave your physical body. Once again, you can follow all the previous steps but now, rather than only allowing a hand or foot to leave from the physical body, you’re going to allow complete separation. In order to do this, you need to focus on just how weightless your body really is. In fact you can even try to imagine that your body is made up of feathers which are being blown around by the wind. At this point, your astral body should be starting to leave your physical body and this will become apparent as you begin to feel as though you are floating.

When you are looking for astral projection techniques, check out the Rope Technique, the Gazing Method and the Anchor Technique as well. Make sure that if one method doesn’t feel right for you that you find another one that does. This can be instrumental in getting you the kind of technique that meets your needs. Remember that there are a number of different ones out there, so find one that suits you.

Remember that not everyone can astral project right away using the techniques above and that they all require practice.

There actually is a faster way of achieving this! With certain innovations in sound technology, many audio type tools are available today to help you. One of the new techniques is the use of Binaural beats which are specialized sound frequencies, which help to synchronize the left and right hemispheres of your brain, allowing immediate meditative state to occur, which is necessary for astral projection.

One can also opt for hypnosis recordings which have been designed to assist those interested in astral projection. These aim to reassure ones subconscious mind that it’s perfectly acceptable for one to leave ones physical body.

The use of astral projection techniques has changed many lives and if you are interested, this is something that is completely possible for you to do!

Out of Body Experiences And History

March 2nd, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

Astral projection, also known as an out-of-body experience, can occur at any time to any person. The most common out-of-body experiences occur during a major trauma. However, it is possible to have an out-of-body experience by sheer will.

It would be this will power manifestation that would be the most commonly known form of astral projection. A number of people have claimed to have had out of body experiences while others make claims about being able to directly perform such astral projection powers. While the basics of these techniques are the same, the power levels can differ from person to person. Of course, there are those that question the validity of such claims.

For centuries, there have been people who have experienced the phenomenon of out of body experiences. Some of them have experienced them during sleep and ignored it, believing that what they saw was a dream. However, most out-of-body experiences are experienced during major trauma such as surgeries.

There are many accounts of out-of-body experiences that occur during near-death situations. In all cases of out-of-body experiences, the person having them state that they are able to see and hear everything that is going on in the room. These people can describe events that occurred while they were in this state and would otherwise not be known to them.

Out-of-body experiences also seem to occur as a result of the use of psychedelic, or dissociative, drugs. However, there have been some techniques to induce an out-of-body experience developed. One example is the use of visualization during a relaxed, or meditative, state. There have been studies, recently, that show that similar experiences to out-of-body experiences are able to be induced by directly stimulating the brain, as well.

Probably the most common type of out-of-body experience is dubbed an astral projection. During astral projection, a person may be able to leave the bodies and visit other places on earth. The individual may even be able to explore astral planes or even higher planes of human existence.

In the world of renaissance Neoplatonist and Rosicrucian philosophy, in addition to scores of other philosophical thought processes, it is stated that an astral body in body created by light and will link the concept of the “rational soul” and the physical body in the form of an intermediate. Within these theories it is stated that an astral plane is a world and realm devised by the same light and exist in an area between heaven and earth. The composition of this realm will be derived from spheres of stars and exist amidst a home of angels, demons, and spirits.

According to the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians, the human soul possesses the ability to hover or float in a world outside the human body in what is commonly referred to the “Ka” which is also known as the subtle body. (Another name of this is the astral body) In most belief systems in astral projection, the astral body holds a connection with a silver cord of psychic energy to the physical body.

The Chinese Taoists developed an alchemical practice that involved creating a body of energy through breathing meditations, pulling energy into what they called a “pearl” and then circulating that pearl throughout the body to create the body of energy.

While an out-of-body experience takes place, scores of people eventually account that they have literally willed themselves to take a leave from their bodies. Then there are those that invoke the notion that they are literally pulled out of their body while some may state that they cannot even tell that the out-of-body experience has actually occurred. There are even those that have noted they wished to get out of bed and when the time came to reach for the door, the individuals realized they were unable to touch it. Upon feeling this sensation, they had looked in the direction of their sleeping area and realized they were still in a lying down still asleep.

Neurologists have tried to explain these events by saying that they are triggered by a mismatch of the visual and tactile signals. Most out-of-body experiences occur during the time between REM sleep and the time before waking. During most occasions of out-of-body experiences, the subject goes into a state called sleep paralysis. During the rime between sleep and awake, sleep paralysis can continue and dream imagery becomes mingled with input from the senses.

Many scientific studies however have been undertaken in the field of astral projection and out-of-body experiences to show that this is a very real phenomena. Research facilities in a number of different countries such as the Monroe Institute in Virginia and the prestigious Projectarium at the International Academy of Consciousness in Portugal and the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience in Switzerland have explored the subject with a number of interesting results.

Looking At Astral Projection Methods

January 6th, 2010 Neil Warner No comments

Astral projection methods vary, but all methods start with relaxation. You need that quiet mind so that you can get focused and relaxed. This quiet state will help you to get ready for going beyond your physical self and into the mindset you need to be in to begin exploring the universe around you.

Getting into a relaxed state that is still focused is not an easy task. You have to relax all the muscles in your body while keeping your mind alert and conscious. Most attempts at astral projection do not work because the person is not able to stay focused while also being completely relaxed and the result is the person ends up asleep.

To get started with the astral projection methods, begin to get into that relaxed state by dressing in clothes that are comfortable. Sit in a chair instead of laying down. Laying down doesn’t work well for beginners because it can often make you too likely to fall asleep instead of just getting relaxed.

When you are comfortably seated, start to imagine that your body has been completely wrapped in a bandage, like a mummy. Everything is tightly wrapped from head to toe. Now start to imagine that you are being unwrapped starting at your toes. The blood flow returns, feeling returns and your toes are free.

Move up your body unwrapping the balls of the feet to the arches to the ankles and on up. You will keep moving up the body and unwrapping until you are completely free.

You should be in total relaxation, but still clear minded. You are ready to try one of the methods of astral projection.

The principle method for astral projection is the rope method. Before beginning the relaxation phase, and individual should tack a section of twine to the ceiling just beyond reach if in a sitting position. One should then sit beneath the “rope” and reach up while closing his or her eyes in order to get a mental impression of the rope’s proximity.

Hanging the rope will let you easily find it with your astral fingers. You will float to the rope and use it as a guide once you are relaxed. In the beginning it can be a little tricky to find the rope, but after a while you will have no trouble doing so. Just remember to be focused.

Find the rope and picture your astral body leaving your physical body and climbing the rope. Your astral body doesn’t weight anything so give no consideration to weight. Stay focused on climbing and moving up the rope. You may become a bit dizzy, but try not to focus on that as it could mess up the projection.

Keep on moving up the rope until your astral body is completely free of your physical body. Ignore everything you may feel like dizziness, heaviness or warmth. Things like that are normal. In fact, these sensations are just a natural part of astral projection.

There are different approaches to the rope method. These include the lift method which involves lifting out of the body and hovering over it. There is the roll out method where the person visualizes rolling out of there body to one side, which works best when lying down. There are also the fixed and moving anchor methods.

In the former, one visualizes a stationary object toward which one then tries to pull oneself, while with the latter, one visualizes feeling the magnetic pull of the object, and thus exits the physical body. Once separated in this way, an individual’s astral body is free to explore all of time and space.

It is important to know that astral projection methods are not immediate. You must learn and practice the process. You may fail in your first attempts, but always keep your attitude positive. Make sure that you understand why you fail if you do. You can often be too tired, not focused enough or distracted.

The more dedicated the individual, however, the sooner he or she will be able to troubleshoot these issues, master the methods of astral projection, and ultimately, transcend the limitations of the physical body.
