Try To Take Your Fire From Your Heart And Into The Pit
While you might want to live in a perfect world without conflict or aggravation, that is not where we reside. Anger is completely normal and a fact of life – it is when you get out of hand and your actions get out of control that it is a problem. However, allowing anger to take up residence inside of you can have a detrimental affect on your life.
It is very helpful to have a designated place of retreat where you can spend time in quiet contemplation and soothing relaxation. If you have a patio or outdoor space where you can place a fire pit and a comfortable chair that can become your ideal place of retreat. The warmth of a fire is comforting. The flickering of the flames is mesmerizing and restful to the mind. Being away from people for just a short time and having your own silent place can prove incredibly therapeutic.
Feeling anger is normal, when you bottle it up inside it is you who suffers, not the people to blame. You may use your time by the fire to attempt to find a different perspective of the situation you are angry with. Or, you may use this time to totally remove from your mind all thoughts regarding the situation. Sometimes, just clearing your mind will remove the anger. In other situations, you may need to take some sort of action to release the anger. You could use your time by the fire to write a completely candid and blunt letter expressing your anger and the reasons for it. You can then burn the letter and with it let your anger evaporate. This is a great way to let out your anger without doing any harm to anybody of anything around you.
That way, the next time something gets you angry or riled up, just know that you will be able to deal with it later by sitting by the fire pit and soothing yourself of the day’s troubles. You will be surprised at the positive effect that such a simple thing as your own private refuge can have on your mental state. It can help you handle issues at work that anger you. You can even relax and think through relationship problems while relaxing by the flames.
Having a fire within you that continues to feed on more and more angry situations is not healthy. Whereas a fire found in a pit can prove one of the most relaxing and healthy things of all.
