We all experience stress from time to time, and anger is a part of life that is somewhat unavoidable. You don’t even have to spend the whole time talking; taking an hour a week to have dinner with your best friend or to get a massage with your spouse will definitely help to calm you down and help you channel your anger.
Even though most people don’t think that ‘taking a deep breath’ or taking some time out really helps, this method is still effective. When you feel yourself getting stressed or angry about a situation, remove yourself – even if it’s just for a few seconds. Take some time to think about your responses to the situation before you react, and breathe deeply in order to calm yourself. The longer your ‘time out’ can be, the better.
When you give yourself permission to express your anger, and to repair these feelings, you will find that your stress level will reduce tremendously.
